An Update To Our Lives
After 6 months of mental anguish and loneliness for both Helen and myself, the powers that be -- The Department of Immigration--
gave us the word we wanted, and had waited so long to hear. Helen and Samantha had their Visas' granted on the 26th of February
and received their passports and attached visa on the 28th-- We are still somewhat bewildered as to why, but they had held their
passports for over 4 days before sending them back-- as we had been told it could be done and returned by express mail overnight
They left Florida on the 5th of March, took 4 connecting flights via LA, Sydney, Brisbane, then at long last, they landed in
Maryborough at 4pm on the 7th March; both looking quite bedraggled from their 27 or more hours of air travel.As Samantha and
her Mother were in flight, I was kept busy organising our house, begging borrowing and buying all types of necessities for
the new life ahead for us all.
But through it all, we are ever grateful to the officialdom who gave us this chance to be what we all wanted to be
A FAMILY....
No doubt the date of March 7th will be firmly etched into our minds for eternity
