WHY ARE YOU BLUE?
Why are you blue?
came that message on ICQ,
It was as if Helen knew
that despite the fact blue was simply my user name,
I was indeed feeling blue.
I tried, in vain, to put on a brave front
but it was no use
Helen knew!!
I had just been jilted, my dreams shattered
but from that moment I was asked;
why are you blue?
Even I knew, as did she
Helen was soon to be my wife
My best mate and partner in life...
No, I am no longer feeling blue.....
but my user name is still Blue.

short story of how we met
To help give some of our poems more meaning for you
It was while sitting at this contraption called A computer, one day around 11a.m as I contemplated my worth in this maddening world
when suddenly a message popped up with that familiar "O" "O" sound from my ICQ.
The message simply asked, " why are you blue?".
BLUE was my user name, and I was indeed feeling blue-- heart broken more like it. Just a day or so before that message came into
my life I had been unserimoaneously dumped by a woman I had developed a great deal of passion and desire for. But that's another
story....
I sat there looking at this msg which displayed the name of " crazzeekattt " , wondering why on earth I would even bother
to acknowledge its existence -- I didn't need more heartache... but the name of crazzeekattt and the question being asked, puzzled me, so I
just had to reply.
"I'm not blue....", I lied, ( I was feeling so low it was criminal ) " That's my user name," but I was still asking myself why I even bothered to reply as I was already giving deep thought toward
tossing this very same computer down the stairs and vowing never to connect to the net again.
"Oh, I thought the name blue meant you were sad," came the caring reply, from who I soon found out was Helen from Florida USA ( which made
me even more bewildered at my madness for talking to this woman-- the last heartache had come from the good old US of A.... But, from
that very first conversation our friendship developed at breakneck speed. We seemed to be able to read each others thoughts from that
first day. And we still do to this day. So much so that we often answer a question before it is asked, or we will both type and send a msg at the exact same time with the exact same words. Tizz Spooky at times.
Helen, too, had been torn apart in her life, and she too was wondering why she bothered to talk to me; as she swore she only
wanted a friend to talk to; nothing more. But it happened oh so fast for us both. We were both mad with desire to meet each other, but myself
having the hideous illness of MS was unable- physically and financially -- to go to the USA, so Helen decided that she would take on the challenge
and come to Australia to meet me. And she did. But not until after a rather horrific piece of news was delivered to her just weeks before she was
due to fly out to Ozz and me... Helen was told she had cancer.
This news rattled us both back down to earth with an almighty thud, but she took the challenge head on, went into Hospital in
Florida for major surgery, recuperated for the ordered time by her doctors, then eventually flew to Australia in august this year. 2000.
We hit it off even better than we had both wished, and I proposed 4 days later-- much to her delight because she was expecting
me to pop the question the day she arrived I feel sure. And Helen will tell you that was exactly what she wanted. But, we got married on the
25/08/2000, then Helen returned to Florida to fulfill personal obligations, tie up her affairs, pack herself and her 10 year old Daughter, and,
we hope, return to myself and Australia by December of this year-- 2000 -- or January 2001. But as we all know, the best laid plans can be tossed
into mayhem as quick as a flash.
We Live each day in hope and beg for the powers-that-be ( immigration ) to grant her her Visa asap. We'll Keep you informed
