I grew up in a large family

Sharing was a neccesity
Somewhere in that big mess I got lost
So I learned to hide my feelings,
Close my eyes
I learned that strength was required,
weakness shunned
So I kept everything inside,
put on a brave face
All my relationships were based on those with needs,
Mine were always thrust aside
I learned to do things alone... share with no one
Many times I failed.... lack of strength, unable to ask
So I spent many years alone, sharing it all with myself
Then I met you, the bright sunshine in my life
I shared my love with you, my hopes, my dreams
Yet I hold back the pain, the uncertain sorrow
But today I realise we are joined forever
Man and wife, life and love, good and bad
So I have taken the time to share, to expose
I want you to be my helper, my support team
I'd like to be able to relax, put my head on your shoulder
I want to reach out to you, know you're there
I want to thank you for teaching me, helping me
Showing me that love is sharing, love is strength
Together we share everything
Our love is strong
Our lives are connected, we share the same spirit
